Hannah Bea

September 4th, 2007

Well it happened. Hannah officially is not a baby anymore. She has started Kindergarten. I uploaded some pics I took of her first day arrival.

Also here is a super cute video of Hannah singing with her friend Kyle the song Soarin from HS Musical on Youtube.

Trip to CA for Aindrea’s Wedding

December 14th, 2006

Hannah and I went out to Cali to see cousin Aindrea get hitched to CJ, and what a beautiful wedding. It was like a fairy tail come true, from the big cathedral church to the Cinderella coach that took them to the reception.

Aindrea was stunning in her dress, just like a princess. Hannah had a great time dancing with Alsie, Kristin, and CJ. It was great seeing everyone and watching Hannah interact with her family. Poor Stephanie couldn’t get any time off because she started her new job at k12.com so she stayed home with Nate Dog. I can’t wait until we are able to get the whole family out to visit. We arrived Thursday morning and went right to Balboa Pier for lunch at Rubys, a walk on the beach and to meet up with Jen and John.

We rode home in Auntie Pattie’s conv BMW and took the ferry off the island for the scenic route. Uncle Ric (Unc) then took us all out to Senior Reuben’s for dinner where an exhausted Hannah fell asleep.
We were able to play at Disneyland on Friday and the amazing thing is we were all able to get in for free because of old friends who either signed us in or called in a favor to get someone else to sign us in – 9 total if you count the locals who already had their season passes.

Hannah got to meet some princesses, ride some rides and watch a parade before she went home with Auntie Pattie and Unc. The cousins left for a short time then came back (minus Stacey) while Jen and I dragged poor John all over the park for rides and shopping including a sprint over to DCA for Soarin then back in time for fireworks. We outlasted Chris and his girlfriend Stephanie who left for good right after the fireworks, but we kept going to get on Space Mountain and Big Thunder in the rain.

Saturday was the wedding (see above) :)

Sunday I hung out with Chris at the LA Car Show while Hannah kept Auntie Pattie and Unc on their toes, and then we had a fabulous early xmas dinner then went and looked at some Christmas lights. I was then able to borrow the ranger and go hang with Lance for a couple hours.
Monday Unc drove us to the airport and said goodbye, and I am sure he went right home to nap and recover from the whirlwind weekend.

We had an amazing time hanging with the family and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts and I am very thankful that Jen and John drove all that way for a day!

April 7-12 2006

April 12th, 2006

What an exciting weekend we had. Hannah and I went to a girls only party on Friday nite. We each came home with some jewelry :) and had some fun. Then on Sat, HB went to gymnastics. Nate got to stay home and hang out with Daddy. Then HB got invited to Brandon’s 4th birthday party at the Claude Moore Park Historical Museum which had a huge kids play area. We had a lot of fun. Nate and Dad “played and um shoes” according to Nate. He got new shoes..buzz lightyear light up ones!
Saturday afternoon on our way to Costco, we got rear ended at a red light. We were the first ones at the light and this woman didn’t break in time and crashed into us. We are all ok but the mini van needs at least $2400k in repairs.

Sunday, we went over Maya’s for a playdate. HB and Maya rode their bikes to the park and played. Mommy and Nate went grocery shopping together. Nate loves to watch the train at Wegmans. He also loves to say No Mine and My Turn!

Hannah also had her 4 year check up on Tues with Dr Lisa. She is doing great. Has some allergies and we got a new prescription for that. Her weight is: 37 1/4 lbs (60%) and her height is 39′ (25%). Dr Lisa said she is on the same growth curve as she has been since birth so things are looking good. She also got 3 shots and later on told me that “that was not a good idea, how could I do that to her, and again, that was not a very good idea Mommy”. I explained how those shots will help her not be sick later, and b/c of that I took her b/c I loved her. She proceeded to tell me “Mommy, that doesn’t make any sense.” She is milking these shots today! She also had some things she had to tell Dr Lisa – she had a nursemaid elbow, she plays with Maya, she went to the park with Maya, and she can’t stay dry bc she doesn’t have any more muscles at nighttime. She cried alot after the shots, so I took her for some ice cream. That made her feel better.

Hannah’s 4th Birthday Extravaganza

April 3rd, 2006

Hannah had 3 birthday celebrations this week. Weds, the 29th we went out for “fire dinner” at the Japanese Steak House with Auntie Nettie, Maya and Jacob. Hannah got scared when they actually used the Fire.. Then we walked over to the Hershey’s Ice Cream shop and had some ice cream.

On Thursday, Hannah had her school party, complete with a Chicken Little Pinata. We had chocolate cupcakes and everyone in her class had a great time.

On Saturday, we had her  Noodle Doodle Party. The kids made ladybugs and butterfly crafts and we enjoyed a Princess Cake. The girls got all together and loved to scream, scream, scream, and laugh. We had the cake at the table, with the candles and HB was about to blow them out.. Natey stepped in and blew 2 out, Maya blew one, and HB got to blow the last one out. We didn’t even know that Nate knew what to do. Everyone had a wonderful time at the Party. Later on, we used the princess jumprope that Maya’s Mimaw got HB outside.

On Sunday, we met up with Aindrea, Krysten and Stacy – Scotty’s cousins. We also invited Divney and Nana to come along. We had lunch at the Post Office, then went to the National History Museum and saw Dinosaurs, bugs and animals. Then we all went outside to play with our ball, jumprope and bubbles. Nate and HB got really dirty. We all decided to head down towards the Cherry Blosssoms. It was super crowded but very pretty. We had a great time seeing the cousins, but boy we were all exhausted.

Week of March 20 -27 2006

March 27th, 2006

What a week we had! Hannah had her first trip to the ER. We were getting out of Costco, and I went to pick her up from the umbrella stroller and somehow by me pulling her arm a bit, it got dislocated. It was called Nursemaid Elbow. We didn’t really know what happened, other than she was screaming in pain and refused to use her arm. Our Ped was closed, so I carefully packed her up and went to the ER. She was crying and screaming. It was obviously very scary. We saw the triage nurse, where HB gave Hannahtude b/c she didn’t want to use the under tongue thermometer. We finally convinced her it wouldn’t hurt. We were put on the fast track to be seen, but that was still a 45 mins wait. About 5-10 mins before they called us, HB sat up and said it doesn’t hurt anymore. Somehow her lying her arm in a certain position, it went back into place. We still had her seen and they said its very common..and showed us how to put it back if it happens again.
Before that, Scotty took HB to Gymnatics, where she learned how to do a Cartwheel. She hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it but she keeps practicing! I had my 2x a year MOPS consignment sale shopping to do on Sat morning. I managed to buy a ton of clothes for the kids, and some toys. Nate loved his dinosaur puppets and his Rescue Hero figures. Hannah got a Dressy Bessy Doll, a Barbie Case, and some stuff for her dollhouse.
We spent some time outside as well this weekend. The weather is getting nicer and nicer :)

Weekend March 11 & 12 2006

March 14th, 2006

It was a pretty quiet weekend. We had gorgeous weather -70’s and sunny-, so we spent alot of time outdoors. Hannah was getting over having strep this past week but was able to go to gymnastics. She did alot of work on the beam and bars this week. You should see her use the rip line! Quite impressive!

We are in the process of finding a big boy bed for Nate. Even though he’s fine in his crib, it’s only a matter of time before he’s ready to move on up. Hannah was moved into her new room by now when she was Nate’s age, but that was because Nate was on his way. Nate tried to ride the tricycle outside this weekend. He can reach the peddles but doesn’t really get what to do, so he scoots around. Hannah got out her scooter and we went around the neighboorhood. Nate wanted to get on the scooter so bad, so of course he cried whenever we told him sorry pal.

At the dr, Hannah got weighed. She weighs 34.5lbs!

Week of March 3 -6 2006

March 7th, 2006

We had a great weekend. Uncle David and Nana came to visit. David had been in NYC for business and he met Nana and they drove down. It was really fun. Both Hannah and Nate really loved having Unc David here. He was thorougly exhausted playing with the kids. They kept him busy.

Hannah is still loving gymnastics. She tried the rings from the ceiling and jumped down into the foam pit. She also jumped off the vault. Nana came to watch her and it was so great to see her improving every time.

Nate is still learning new words and things to do every day. He loves to look at this one book “The Very Busy Spider” and make the sounds of each animal. His favorite thing to say is Snack but he says Nack, Nack..sort of like that AFLAC duck.

February 18 -21 2006

February 23rd, 2006

This weekend was pretty much status quo. Hannah went to gymnatics and has really improved. She can do a forward and backwards roll pretty well. She really is enjoying her Sat morning classes.

On Sunday, we helped Jack Campbell celebrate his 4th birthday. Hard to believe but the first of our Mom’s group kids is turning 4. The party was at an old renovated movie theatre and they showed Curious George. Hannah, Maya and Jack sat together and enjoyed the movie. The party was a smashing good time for everyone of course!

Monday was President’s Day, so we all enjoyed an extra day off. Annette, Maya and Jacob came over and the day was spent having fun with our friends.

February 11-12 2006

February 13th, 2006

This weekend we saw our first big snowstorm of 06. We got about 10 inches of snow and Hannah couldn’t wait to go out and play in it. She kept asking if it was snowing yet…before the storm had arrived. You can see in one of the pics, Nate wanted to go bike riding in the snow. It was tough trying to explain to him why we couldn’t go outside with the bike.
I took some pics of Hannah at gymnastics. She really loves going there and gets good exercise. She is getting very good at the forward roll and jumping.
Nate is growing up. He is talking non stop which is really funny. Scotty took him grocery shopping and everyone kept laughing at him b/c he was a motor mouth. What’s this, What’s that questions. This past week he also began singing along to songs in the car. I was taken a back at first, b/c I had never heard him actually sing to the songs we have on when going to school in the morning.

February 4-5 2006

February 6th, 2006

We were very busy this weekend. Hannah had gymnastics and then we had to go straight to a birthday party at the Curiosity Zone where she donned a lab coat and made Slimey things like a rubber bouncing ball and flubber. She had a really fun time. We then took a trip to the art supply store where we bought some rubber stamps and some dinosaur stickers.
Well I turned the big 35 yesterday. It was a very nice birthday. We all went out for breakfast at Amphora Diner and then headed to the mall for a bit. Hannah was so funny yesterday. Scott and Nate did an errand and she said I will stay home with Mommy but I wont bother her. So I am watching a show on tv, and she keeps talking so I said Hannah stop talking…she said I’m talking to myself and not bothering you..I said your talking is bothering me! :) Nate was obsessed with saying Happy Birthday To You..all day long. Super cute.

Also Both Nate and Hannah now recognize all things Disney. Nate was getting ready for bed sitting on Scott’s lap and a Disney commercial came on. He pointed to it and was very excited to recognize it all. Hannah saw the Super Bowl I’m Going to Disneyland commerical and immediately knew the song and what it is all about.. :)
